Xiaomi’s latest flagship device, the Mi Note 2 was finally launched today at Xiaomi’s ‘Curved to Impress’ event in Beijing. The device is a spectacle and looks nothing less than stunning. Clad in a dual 3D curved glass body on both the rear and front, the Mi Note 2 is a beauty to behold. Another major highlight is an enormous 6GB of RAM, which many of you might term as an overkill, but nevertheless, the device reeks of premium feature all round.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 sports a 5.7-inch FHD OLED flexible display and has an impressive NSTC gamut of 110 percent which provides for rich and vivid colour reproduction. Powering the device is a top of the line 2.35GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 Performance Edition SoC which should easily handle almost anything you throw at it. The Mi Note 2 packs a 4070mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. The fingerprint sensor is embedded in the home button and the device sports a USB Type-C port. The device also features NFC support and has an Aqstic audio processor which produces 192kHz/24-bit Hi-Fi sound.
In the camera department, there is a 22.56 MP rear camera with Sony IMX318 Exmor RS sensor, a f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, 3-axis gyroscope for 4K video stabilisation and EIS. The primary camera is really impressive and is capable of clicking some really breath-taking clips. There is an 8-MP Sony IMX268 Exmor RS sensor with a f/2.0 aperture on the front for selfies and video chats.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be made available in two storage variants. The 4GB RAM/ 64GB inbuilt storage model carries a price tag of CNY 2,799 (approx Rs. 27,600), while the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant has been priced NY 3,299 (approx Rs. 32,600). The Global Edition with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage will cost CNY 3,499 (roughly Rs. 34,500). The device will be made available in Piano Black and Glacial Silver colour variants.
The pre-orders for the Xiaomi Note 2 have commenced in China and the smartphone will go on sale starting November 1. The device is expected to be launched in other markets like India pretty soon too.
