Huami, a subsidiary of Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi has recently launched a new smartwatch called the Xiaomi Amazfit. Huami is entrusted with the job of creating smart wearables for Xiaomi and it’s the same company that has earlier manufactured highly popular Mi Band.
The Xiaomi Amazfit smartwatch is circumscribed with ceramic bezels, giving it a chic look which also strengthens it with the ceramic scratch-resistant coating. The wristbands are made of high-quality lugs which can later be replaced. The 1.34-inch circular front features a display with 300*300 resolutions. The smartwatch is powered by a 1.2GHz processor coupled with 512 MB RAM and an internal memory of 4 GB. The smartwatch also boasts of a built-in GPS tracker, to keep easy track of daily fitness activities like- distance covered during jogging, etc.
The Amazfit smartwatch is fuelled by a 200mAh battery which can last for five days even with the GPS being always on. According to a report published, if it will be used just for tracking steps the battery can provide a continuous usage of over 11 days. Apart from the pedometer, it comes with a built-in heart rate monitor, that will track your heart rate throughout the day and you can accordingly infer what daily activities cause a surge in your heart’s beating.
Apart from these cool features, Xiaomi Amazfit has got IP67 certification making it dust and water resistant. However, it can resist water only when submerged upto one meter. Details regarding the OS and the chipset manufacturers are not yet known. Also as of now Xiaomi Amazfit has been launched only in China and there is no official confirmation as to whether Xiaomi is planning it to launch in other regions of the world. Xiaomi Amazfit is available through all popular retailers in China at a price of CNY 799.
