Social network Facebook will release the official messenger application for Mac computers. Such information includes the resource TechCrunch, which published a fuzzy picture of the application. The image allegedly captured the Mac of one of the employees of the company, which is testing the program.
Judging by the presented photos, the developer uses the official Facebook Messenger client for OS X. this is indicated, first, the logo of the messenger in the form of icons for the dock bar and application name in the menu bar. Secondly, despite the grainy photo, in the lower left corner to see the tab with the navigation (with groups, contacts, recent messages and settings). It looks exactly like in the iOS version of Messenger. In unofficial messenger clients such as Messenger For Desktop and FbMacMessenger, such tab is not present.
The source suggests that the official version of Messenger for Mac will allow Facebook to expand the audience and increase the convenience of the service. Instead of having to switch between multiple tabs in the browser, users can invoke the program with one click to chat with friends.
It is possible that the version of Messenger for OS X is just an experiment Facebook. In 2012 the company released the Windows version of messenger, which did not engraft. Within two years the social network ignored the program, concentrating on mobile customers, and in March of 2014 and did announced the end of support desktop messenger.
The representative of Facebook said that the company does not comment on rumors, but this response is standard even in the case when someone just doesn’t want to confirm early leakage of information.
Recently the head of Facebook Messenger Stan Chudnovsky said that branded app to share messages and videos are regularly used by more than 800 million people.
