OnePlus is one company which has always stood up on its promise. A couple of months ago, the Chinese smartphone maker had promised the OnePlus two users that VoLTE support will be made available by this year end. And indeed they were true to their word as the company has released the OxygenOS 3.5.5 Update over-the-air (OTA) for the OnePlus two.
The major highlight of this OTA update is obviously the VoLTE support for some select carriers and in special Reliance Jio. Earlier, the OnePlus Two users had to use the Jio4G Voice app to make calls and it required a continuous internet connection, but no more. With the VoLTE support, there won’t be any need for continuous internet connection and the users can even place calls from their default dialer app.
However, the VoLTE support isn’t just the only offering of this update. The OxygenOS 3.5.5 Update weighs around 1.2GB and among other features include a new App Lock, Clock, Calculator, new Alert Slider options, new shelf optimisation options and few other bug fixes. Further the Android Security Patch Level has been updated to 1/12/16. However, there is still no word on when Android Nougat 7.0 will arrive on the OnePlus Two.
The update is being rolled out in phases, so don’t worry if you still haven’t received an update notification. You can even download the zip file of the update and flash it manually if you’re in such a hurry. OnePlus is even asking for feeddback about the new update on its forum. I myself updated my OnePlus Two to OxygenOS 3.5.5 and haven’t faced any major problem as such till now. Except for maybe some occassional signal loss on my Reliance Jio network which also leads to some quick battery loss. So this is it for now. Till then, stay tuned to Technohacker.
