All the musicians who lay out their new track exclusively on Apple music are punished by making it complicated for users to find music and buried in the search ranking in Spotify.
Spotify has been doing such practices about a year now, in the last few months, intensified the discrimination of the artists and groups who choose the Apple music service for their distribution. Artists given exclusives to Tidal for the streaming service run by American rapper Jay Z, have also been retaliated.
Though the Spotify is 10 years old in market, it never been a profit making one because It pays major chunk of its revenue for recording studios and musicians. When it comes to international market “The Loss” increased from $185 million to $206 million.
Apple’s music service signing up above 15 million subscribers since June 2015 where Spotify has more than 30 Million subscribers globally.
Artists like Drake, Chance the Rapper and Frank Ocean are dealt with Apple for new music and it is Apple’s wise strategy.
Apple music service is smart enough to promote artists by highlighting their tracks in its track section, giving it ways to play favorites with musicians.
