Samsung launched the new and upgraded Galaxy A-series models ahead of the CES 2017. The devices which have been launched are the Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017), and Galaxy A7 (2017). All the smartphones will go on sale starting early January in Russia. The global roll out will also take place gradually. The Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017), and Galaxy A7 (2017) will be made available in Black Sky, Gold Sand, Blue Mist, and Peach Cloud colour variants.
The major upgrade, according to Samsung has been made in the camera department. The new Samsung Galaxy A (2017) series boasts much-enhanced cameras than their predecessors. The new cameras have been optimised for low light conditions. Furthermore, the camera UI has been simplified to make editing, selfie capturing, switching modes, etc. much easier than earlier.
Another notable feature of the new Samsung Galaxy A (2017) series is the IP68 water and dust resistance rating. All the three devices sport a metallic frame and 3D glass back panel. The devices look very premium and are sure to draw gazes from the onlookers.
If you’re thinking this is it, you’re so wrong. The new Galaxy A-series boasts of a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button, USB Type-C port with fast charge support and an Always on Display. The devices also support microSD card for memory expansion up to 256GB and feature NFC for Samsung Pay.

The latest Galaxy A series is a testament to this. We integrated our unique approach to design as well as the features Galaxy customers have come to love to provide added performance without compromising on style.”
The rest of the features remain more or less same. All the three devices support dual-SIMs and run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The Samsung Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 sport a 4.7-inch, 5.2-inch and 5.7-inch Super AMOLED displays and feature 2350mAh, 300mAh, 3600 mAh battery respectively. While the Galaxy A3 offers a camera configuration of 13MP/8MP, the Galaxy A5 and A7 sport a 16MP camera on both rear and front. The Galaxy A3 is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core SoC coupled with 2GB of RAM, while the Galaxy A5 and A7 are powered by a 1.9GHz octa-core SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM.
The Samsung Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 have been priced 24,990, 29,990 and 34,990 rubles, respectively in Russia. The global prices are also expected to be more or less the same. This is it for now, for more news and updates, stay tuned.
