Samsung AirPods On Its Way With The Galaxy S8

Apple went jackless with the iPhone 7 and this bold move has open all the floodgates for jackless smartphones for other manufacturers as well. The rumour mill has been quite abuzz with speculations regarding the Samsung Galaxy S8. While few rumours claim that the Galaxy S8 will be a completely jackless device, while many others claim that there will a USB Type-C jack which will act as both the earphone jack as well as the charging port.

However, one thing is sure that the Galaxy S8 will bid adieu to the 3.5mm jack for sure. Further, it would be wrong to say that Samsung would be replicating Apple as the Korean smartphone maker has already launched the Gear IconX, it’s own wireless earphones.

According to the latest report from SamMobile, Samsung will be launching a wireless earphone along with the Galaxy S8. Now, what remains to be seen whether it would be included in Galaxy S8 box or sold separately just like the Apple AirPods. It is also unclear whether these wireless earphones would be the successors to the Gear IconX or an independent series.

Further, the rumour suggests that these wireless earphones will have Harman internals and even include a fitness tracker and storage for inbuilt music. This indeed sounds very interesting. But do keep this in mind that these are very early rumours and until something concrete turns up, do take this with a pinch of salt.

Although not much can be said either about the Galaxy S8 or these earphones, but one thing is almost sure that the upcoming Samsung flagship will be finally saying goodbye to the 3.5mm jack. For more news and updates, stay tuned to Technohacker.
