It was inevitable that the free offerings of Reliance Jio would end someday and sadly that day is soon approaching. The era of free Jio will finally end on 31st March and post this period, users will have to pay charges if they wish to enjoy the Reliance Jio 4G data. The calls will, however, still remain free as Mr Ambani had promised earlier. The transition is surely not going to be pretty smooth for the millions of Jio users who have now almost got addicted to the free Reliance Jio services. Moreover, it will be very interesting to see if Reliance Jio will be able to retain its 100 million customer base after this transition. To further stir up things Reliance Jio has played the card of Jio Prime subscription which is a one-time annual fee of Rs.99.
You must be wondering what is this Jio Prime Subscription and whether you should opt for it or now? You need not worry anymore as you have come to the right place as we will tell everything that is there to know about the new Jio plans and the Jio Prime subscription.
As you must know by now that Reliance Jio won’t be offering free internet after 31 March 2017, although you’ll still get free calls. Apart from the free internet, you won’t be able to enjoy the free Jio services like JioTV, JioCinema, JioMusic, etc. Here are the new Reliance Jio tariff plans w.e.f. 1 April 2017.

Jio is offering the prime subscription to its current users at a nominal annual charge of Rs.99. And as you can clearly see in the above tariff chart, the Prime users will get almost twice as much as data than the non-prime users. Apart from that Jio is also offering free subscription to all of its premium apps.
If we analyse carefully, the Rs.303 plan will avail you the same offerings as is being currently offered by the Happy New Year Plan. It will provide users will 1GB 4G data per day for a period of 28 days. Apart from this 1GB/day, Jio is offering an additional 5GB data on this plan which you can exhaust over the 28 day period. The Rs. 499 plan will provide you with 2GB data per day and an additional 10 GB 4G data which can be used over the 28 day period. This plan is very similar to the Jio Welcome Offer.
If you really ask me whether to opt for the prime subscription or not, then my answer is a straight yes. The Jio Prime subscription is a nominal one-time fee which will offer you huge benefits over the non-prime users. So you must go for it even though you might not use Jio in the future. It’s always better to play safe. So surely go for it.
