The Price War Has Begun – BSNL Vs Reliance Jio

With the official launch of Reliance Jio on 5th September 2016, a price war has begun among all telecom operators in order to stand against the tides of Jio tariffs. To survive in the current scenario, it has become compulsory for every telco to adopt aggressive tariffs. In order to match with the Reliance Jio tariffs, the Chairman and Managing Director of BSNL Anupam Srivastava said – BSNL is in a position to counter attack the tariffs of Jio as they have their landline and Optical Fibre working on their own network and they don’t need to invest further. He has taken it as a challenge and has promised to match Reliance Jio “tariff-by-tariff“.

BSNL has rolled out aggressive plans for landline, broadband customers :

BSNL has gone into war with Jio and rolled up some amazing plans for its landline and broadband customers. Jio is hard hitting with its new commercial “Digital India”, Indians have gone crazy for its new Jio ( 20 billion startups ) mobile services as it offers unlimited free internet, free calls, and free roaming !

For Landline customers

Recently Independence day offer started to attract new customers for a new fixed line connection on monthly rental starting from Rs. 49 for first six months. “BSNL customers will be able to make unlimited free voice calling from a BSNL landline to any network mobile and landline in the country every Sunday.  At present, it offers unlimited night calling on any network in the country between 9 pm to 7 am as complimentary service for all its customers.

For New Broadband customers

New Broadband plan – Experience Unlimited Broadband 249 is introduced from 09-09-2016 for customers all over India. The BB249 plan is available new customers only, both ADSL and FTTH. Installation charges will be waived off during the promotional period.

Highlights of the plan:

  • Bandwidth – 2 Mbps until 1 GB and up to 1 Mbps beyond.
  • Rentals – Rs.249/- for first six months, later can be changed to “BBG Combo ULD 499”
  • Download/Upload limit – Unlimited
  • Additional Facility – unlimited night calling on any network in the country between 9 pm to 7 am and every Sunday to any network.

For Existing broadband customers :

No disappointment for the existing customers using any higher broadband plans, as they can convert their plan to “BBG Combo ULD 499“. It is a regular plan for all users in India.

Highlights of the plan:

  • Bandwidth – 2 Mbps until 2 GB and up to 1 Mbps beyond.
  • Rentals – Rs.499/- per month
  • Download/Upload limit – Unlimited
  • Additional Facility – unlimited night calling on any network in the country between 9 pm to 7 am and every Sunday to any network.

Introduction of New Broadband Plan:

A new broadband plan has been introduced on a regular basis all over India from 09-09-2016 as “BBG Combo ULD 1199“, with unlimited Download/Upload and 24×7 unlimited free calls all over India.

Highlights of the plan:

  • Bandwidth – Flat 2 Mbps.
  • Rentals – Rs.1199/- per month
  • Download/Upload limit – Unlimited
  • Additional Facility – unlimited free calling 24×7 on any network in the country.
