Motorola which is now owned by Lenovo has confirmed in an official tweet that Lenovo is all set to launch Moto Z series in India on October 4. The Z series was first announced at Lenovo Tech World 2016 organized in San Francisco this June. Lenovo announced three Moto Z series smartphones namely – the Moto Z, the Moto Z Force, and the Moto Z Play at the San Francisco event. However, neither Lenovo nor Motorola has confirmed which of these three smartphones is going to be launched in India on 4th October. Lenovo had already confirmed the launch somewhere in October, and now the official date has been confirmed. Lenovo has also started sending a ‘Block Your Date’ invitation for the launch event.
Moto Z runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and sports a 5.5-inch Quad-HD AMOLED display, a fingerprint scanner on the home button and a USB Type-C port. To attract another series of no jack memes, it seems Motorola has ditched headphone jack just like the iPhone 7. Moto Z is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM with a choice of either 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage. Storage can be expanded up to 2 TB via an external memory card. On the camera front, Moto Z sports a 13-MP rear camera which comes with Optical Image Stabilization and laser AF (autofocus). There is a 5-megapixel camera on the front with a dedicated flash. Talking about the battery capacity, the 2600 mAh battery can deliver up to 30 hours of backup. Another interesting feature included in Moto Z is that it comes with TurboPower charging that can deliver up to 8 hrs. of battery life with only 15 minutes of charging.
Motorola Moto Z Force also features Moto ShatterShield technology, developed to give extra protection to the display and according to Motorola, with this technology onboard on the Moto Z Force, the device has been claimed to not shatter or crack. Apart from the larger battery capacity with 3500 mAh battery other features of Moto Z Force are same as that of Moto Z. While the Z series was announced at IFA 2016, Motorola also announced Moto Mods, which includes a vast array of devices that can be connected to the Moto Z smartphones from the 16 dots provided at the rear of the smartphones.
We’re all very excited and are looking forward to the launch event scheduled for 4th October. We’ll keep you posted with all the latest developments, so stay tuned.
