Motorola is finally launching its much-awaited budget smartphone Moto G4 Play in India. Motorola India just announced on Twitter that the device will go on sale as an Amazon exclusive starting September 6. The Moto G4 Play belongs to the family of the very successful devices, Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus which are still doing very good in the Indian smartphone market. The Moto G4 Play might be called a basic or toned down version of these two devices and it is clearly reflected in its specifications and pricing.
The Moto G4 Play sports a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display and is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with each core clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with 2GB of RAM. The device offers 16GB of inbuilt storage which can be further upgraded up to 128GB via a microSD card. The Moto G4 Play supports 4G LTE but offers only a single SIM. It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and packs a decent 2800 mAh battery.

In the camera department, the Moto G4 Play sports an 8MP primary rear shooter with f/2.2 aperture, LED flash and various other interesting features like burst mode, tap anywhere to capture, auto HDR, etc. There is a 5MP camera on the front for selfies and video chat. Another remarkable feature of this device is a water repellent nano-coating which prevents it from mild water damages.
Although, Motorola hasn’t yet officially announced the price of the Moto G4 Play, but recent reports indicate a price tag of Rs. 8,999. This seems in resonance with the pricing of the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus which are priced Rs. 12,499 and Rs. 13,499 respectively. The official launch of the G4 Play doesn’t seem very far away now and we can’t wait to get our hands on this device. We’ll keep you posted with all the latest news and updates from the tech world.
