In its attempt to minimise casualty due to Jio’s rise in the industry, telecommunication operator Aircel has announced unlimited voice calling packs for its prepaid customers. Two new special packs, RC14 and RC249 were announced on Wednesday which will offer unlimited local and STD voice calling across all networks to its customers for 1 day and 28 days respectively.
“As we gradually move towards the New Year, we want to delight our customers with an exciting gamut of products that offer them benefits of unlimited calling and data. Both RC14 and RC249 are designed for a wide spectrum of users, who want to enjoy free calling and also stay connected online at an affordable cost,” Aircel Chief Marketing Officer Anupam Vasudev said.
A few days ago, the three biggies of the Indian telecom industry, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, and Idea Cellular had launched somewhat similar offers to their customers to counter the rival Reliance Jio’s tariff with free voice calls to all prepaid customers and some amazing internet data options.
Now joining the squad, Aircel is also offering additional 1.5GB 3G data to its customers who have 4G handsets in its circle of Assam and North East, West Bengal, Kolkata, Uttar Pradesh East, Bihar and Jharkhand, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
Aircel afraid of Jio’s increasing customer base (an astonishing mark of over 52 million subscribers within 83 days of its launch), has rolled out these plans to counter the entry level ₹149 plan of Jio which offers the same duration of free calls along with 300MB of 4G data including unlimited usage during nights.
The post-Jio war is still ensuing and although it remains to be seen that which telco would have the final say, but one thing which is assured is that this battle will definitely benefit the customers. This is it for now, till then, stay tuned to Technohacker for more news and updates.
