Facebook has evolved to become one of the integral parts of our lives. Not a day goes by when we don’t check our newsfeed. It has grown by being a mere social networking website to becoming a great source of knowledge, news and entertainment as well. Facebook has seen a huge surge in the multimedia content hosted on it. All of ours newsfeed is flooded with tonnes of multimedia content like videos and GIFs. While these are no doubt entertaining but at the same time, they consume a lot of data.

You must have noticed that Facebook sessions cost you much more data than earlier these days. It is primarily due to loads of videos posted on Facebook which gets automatically played. Videos on Facebook can become a nightmare for you if you are on a metered connection. A single session often runs into hundreds of MBs as autoplay of videos is turned ON by default. This leads to piling up of data bills.

However, you need not worry anymore as there is a simple trick by which you can turn OFF automatic video playback and save data on Facebook. Do this right now if you have limited data and save hundreds of MBs. This not only saves your data but also loads up your newsfeed much quicker as no data is wasted on video playbacks.

So just follow these steps to save data on Facebook:

STEP 1: Open your Facebook account.

STEP 2: Now open Settings as shown in the image.

STEP 3: Select the Videos option from the left pane and open it.

STEP 4: Now you will see the option of Autoplay Videos which is by default set to ON.

STEP 5: Turn Autoplay Videos to OFF.
