Apple recently announced its new operating system iOS 10 with many new features and released for its developers at WWDC 2016 conference. In recent posts you have already seen how to install iOS 10 beta 1 on your iPhone without UDID or developer account.
The famous “Slide to unlock” was removed in iOS 10, lock screen feature, replacing it with “Press Home to Open”.
But is really annoying for some users as all have been using this since the first iPhone, and quite annoying — especially on devices with broken or unstable Home Buttons.
Here’s how to get it back.
Step 1: First, go to iTunes and make a backup of your iPhone. Make sure to make an unencrypted backup. We will be modifying some files later.
Step 3: Open iBackupBot and select your backup. On the sidebar, open /System Files/Home Domain/Library/Preferences.
Step 4: Then, double click to open com.apple.springboard.plist. ( file )
In it, add in the following two lines after the header information.
Step 5: Save the file. Close iBackupBot and restore backup from iTunes. (Note: There seems to be a bug in iBackupBot preventing restoring a single file to device within iBackupBot, if the device is running iOS 10 Beta. This is why restore should be done in iTunes.)
Step 6: Your iPhone should reboot. After it reboots, voila, Slide to unlock is back!
