Constantly bored application Photos (unless, of course, you’re not using it) made me look for a quick way to disable autorun, because every time I connect the iPhone to the Mac, the program immediately opens his window and starts to “eats” your computer’s resources.

There are two different methods to disable automatic startup of photos app on mac when iPhone is connected to it. We will go through it one by one and its easy as hell !

Method #1: Disabling devices via Photos

Disable AutoRun can be disabled directly in the import menu after connecting the device to a Mac.In the upper left corner you can notice the item  Open Stock for this device  – just choose one of connected gadgets, and take away the bird next to this paragraph.

Method #2: Through Terminal

If you do not need to start when you connect Photography any device that is suitable disable this function via the Terminal. Open the program from the list of utilities their Mac, Copy and Paste commands in the input field and press Enter:

defaults -currentHost write com.apple.ImageCapture disableHotPlug -bool YES

If you need to enable autorun back, then do the same job with the command:

defaults -currentHost write com.apple.ImageCapture disableHotPlug -bool NO
