Chinese smartphone maker Huawei launched its latest flagship device Honor Magic in China yesterday to commemorate its third anniversary. The device has already gone on sale in China at a retail price of CNY 3,699 (roughly Rs. 36,000) through Vmall, Tmall, and JD.com. The global availability is yet unknown but we expect a word on this anytime soon.
The Honor Magic is a very premium device and its high-end specs completely justify its price tag. The device sports a top notch 5.09-inch Quad HD (1440×2560 pixels) AMOLED 3D curved display and is powered by an octa-core Kirin 950 processor (each core clocked at 1.8GHz) coupled with 4GB of RAM. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the customised Honor UI on top. The device offers an impressive 64GB of internal storage, however, there’s no SD card support.
Honor Magic excels in the camera department as well. It sports a 12 MP dual camera setup on the rear and an 8MP camera on the front. Both the front and rear cameras are capable of capturing great pics in good as well as low lighting conditions. The device packs a 2900mAh battery with fast charging support. Huawei has claimed that the Honor Magic can charge up to 40 percent in just 10 minutes and 70 percent in just 20 minutes. This is some real quick charging. The device offers dual-SIM support with 4G VoLTE support.
Apart from these, the Honor Magic offers many other intelligent security features like the WiseScreen sensor, FaceCode intelligent recognition feature and the Deep Think feature. These features are really amazing and not only provide additional security to the users but also helps in preserving the battery. The Honor Magic is a good blend of sturdiness, beauty, compactness, innovation and a competitive price. We don’t know yet when it will make its way to the global market, but we’ll keep a keen eye on it, so stay tuned.
