The huge success of Nokia 6 can be seen as the resurgence of Nokia in the smartphone market. HMD Global, however, broke millions of hearts by restricting the device just to the Chinese market. Ever since the release of Nokia 6, the reports of Nokia P1 flagship have been very successful in keeping the rumour mill abuzz. Countless leaks and reports have now confirmed it beyond doubt that a Nokia flagship touted as the Nokia P1 is in making and it might get unveiled at the MWC 2017.
Interestingly, a concept video of the alleged Nokia P1 has been posted by Concept Creator and we’re already loving it. The video has already crossed over 290k views as we’re writing and gives a rough idea about how the upcoming Nokia flagship is going to look.
As can be seen in the video rendering, the Nokia P1 is seen sporting three different designs. The all-metal device looks just gorgeous. Two buttons (Volume & Power) and a hybrid dual-SIM slot can be seen on the right edge of the device, while there isn’t any button on the left edge. At the bottom of the device, there is the 3.5mm headphone jack, speaker grills and a USB Type-C port. The metallic frames have an iPhone 5s like finish and give the P1 a premium touch. A physical home button can be seen on the front which will most probably also act as the fingerprint sensor.
Apart from this, there is a 22.6-megapixel Carl Zeiss lens at the rear with Nokia branding below it. The Nokia P1 will be reportedly powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM. The device will pack a 3,500 mAh battery and is rumoured to come in two storage variants: 128GB & 256 GB. While the 128GB variant will cost around $800 (roughly Rs. 54,500), the 128GB variant will cost around $950 (roughly Rs. 64,700).
Let’s hope that Nokia P1 gets unveiled at the MWC 2017 and I really wish it to be released globally rather than in some selective markets.
