Ever since Nokia was acquired by Microsoft, the company has been lying more or less dormant. But all of this might change very soon because if the rumours are to be believed, the Finnish smartphone maker is all set to be back in the major league with its upcoming Android Flagship device. Nokia might launch a high-end or shall we say ‘very high-end’ Android device at the MWC 2017.
A report has surfaced from China which claims that an Android Nokia smartphone is in making which will put all the current flagships including the Apple iPhone 7 and the Galaxy Note7 (or shall we say the S7 Edge!!!) to shame. According to this leak, the Nokia flagship will sport the very powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM. The highlight of this device, however, will be 23MP rear camera with Zeiss lens.
It is being speculated that the device will be a 5.2 or 5.5-incher and will sport a Quad-HD (2K) display. Not only this, the device is expected to run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box and will also have waterproof feature. A picture of this flagship Nokia smartphone has surfaced. In the pic, we can clearly see the Nokia branding on the rear of a device clad in a metal unibody. The screen is turned off and nothing else can be derived from this image.
Please note that the veracity of this report as well as this leaked image is yet to be confirmed, so we would advise you to take this with a pinch of salt. However, it is also notable that HMD Global has confirmed that a Nokia Android smartphone will be unveiled at the MWC 2017. So this might be that device. The MWC 2017 is scheduled to kick off in Barcelona February 27 and if Nokia indeed comes up with this rumored flagship there, then it will be a whole new ball game. Well, there is still some time to the MWC and if something pops up in the meanwhile, we will surely keep you informed. So stay tuned.
