The Apple Watch is easilly awailable in all apple stores, But we are still looking likely we are going to see future hardware upgrades. The advantage is that Micro-LED’s are much more energy efficient.
How Micro-LED iPhones In Future
Innolux CEO and Chairmen ” Jyh-Chau Wang” of LCD manufacturer says OLED will completely replace LCD technolgies. But CEO believes that it will effect on performance, long term reliability and cost. According to manufacturer, replacing the displays is most common solution. Mr.Wang responded to the rumors that Apple will switch from 2017 on OLED.
Apple was last year opened a secret lab in northern Taiwan, to develop thinner, lighter, brighter and more efficient displays for future iPhone’s. They have previously staff of screen manufacturers AU Optronics and Qualcomm subsidiary SolLink pinched. Before that acquisition Micro LED was a relatively unknown technology.
How difficult to produce Micro LED
The new screens are more advanced than the current TFT-LCD’s used in iPhone’s, iPad’s and Macs. They let the colors look better and require no back lighting like normal LCD screens. However, it is the disadvantage that they are difficult to manufacture and are expensive for mass production. For the little Apple Watch is perhaps feasible, but relatively large screens of the iPhone and iPad is a different story. In short, perhaps Apple will only switch to OLED to keep up with the competition, only to come up with its own display technology. Hope Apple fans will be waiting for the year 2017.
