Ola is one of the biggest online cab services in our India and boasts of one of the largest transportation networks in India. You can currently book the Ola cabs across the various cities using the Ola app on your smartphone. However, you quintessentially required the internet to book an Ola cab. To solve this issue, Ola has just launched its ‘Ola Offline’ which would allow users to book cabs even when there is no internet connectivity on their smartphones. Ola Offline is currently available in the key Metros only but will be soon extended to other cities as well.
Ola Offline will be available in the major cities for all the cab categories including the Prime, Micro, Mini, and Lux. Here’s how you can use the Ola Offline feature:
STEP 1: While attempting to book an Ola cab on the app without any internet connection, you’ll be prompted to either Retry or Book via SMS.
STEP 2: Choose the option to Book via SMS. You’ll now be redirected to Ola’s default messaging app.
STEP 3: Here you’ll see a pre-entered text message requesting Ola to book a cab for you.
STEP 4: You just need to hit enter and then you’ll receive a message which will contain particulars of the available Ola cabs nearby.
STEP 5: Choose the preferred cab category and you’ll soon receive an SMS containing the details of the cab and the driver.
STEP 6: You can now call up the driver or wait for them to call you.
It’s as simple as that. This feature is really helpful and I would’ve loved it even more if Ola had launched the Ola Offline feature in small cities where the internet connectivity is still not that good. However, it’s a welcome step and we appreciate it. Stay tuned to Technohacker for all the latest news and updates from the tech world.
