Apple’s Mysterious Device: FCC certified wireless device Apple with Bluetooth and NFC

Another try from Apple to connect wireless device with Bluetooth and NFC

Apple is developing a new product that supports Bluetooth and NFC(Near Field Communication) wireless interfaces. According to MacRumors resource corporation registered in the US Federal Communications Commission (Federal Communications Commission, FCC) the new device with the model number A1846.

It is already the second unannounced product that Apple has registered with the FCC recently. In September 2016 the organization released information about the “Apple” gadget with model number A1844.

The application states that the product is aimed at use with Bluetooth and NFC wireless interfaces. The specification states that the gadget consumes 100 to 700 mA, and 5.5 to 13.2 V. For comparison, the same characteristics of the set-top box Apple TV match the 920 mA and 12 V. Detailed specs are not disclosed due to the privacy policy procedure.

How Apple plans to use the device is not yet reveled. There are different assumptions about its purpose. According to one version, it may be the next generation television set-top box Apple TV, which is to get a more powerful stuffing and support 4K video.

There is an assumption that we can talk about the hardware addressing Apple, which is focused on iBeacon technology that allows working closely with other devices in the vicinity. Finally, it may be a “smart” column for Apple Home home, rumors of which are from the beginning of last year.
