The tech geeks who love to play with custom Android ROMs would be more than happy to know that the CyanogenMod community has released the latest nightly build of CyanogenMod 14.1. The latest CM14.1 is based on Android Nougat 7.1 and has been released for a handful of devices right now.
The latest nightly build is currently made available for the Xiaomi Mi 3, Xiaomi Mi 4, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, LG G4, LG G3, Moto G variants, OnePlus 3, ZenFone 2 and Samsung Galaxy S5. The CM14.1 nightly build is currently available for only these devices but the CyanogenMod community has promised that it will be soon made available for other devices as well.
Please note that the nightly builds aren’t completely stable in nature and might contain a few bugs. Although the CM14.1 nightly build, founder Steve Kondik has said that the users need not worry as the build is pretty much stable and except for a few missing features which would be very soon added, there isn’t anything wrong with the build.
He said, “Bug reports are OK, but please don’t file bugs for missing features since this is all a work in progress. Now is a great time to get involved with the project too- CM is returning to its community-driven roots and there are endless ways to help out. As always, more devices will be added to the list over the coming weeks and maintainers bring everything up to date, so if you don’t see your device listed here just give us a bit of time.”
Many features are currently missing out on this nightly build, but the developers have promised that they would be added anytime soon. You can download the CyanogenMod 14.1 nightly build here for the above-mentioned device. I would ask you to wait a bit before for the reviews of this build before going on and installing it. Also, if you’re unfamiliar with the flashing process, stay away from this as this might render your device just useless. Moreover, don’t forget backing up your important files. If you’re comfortable with these, go on and enjoy the latest CyanogenMod 14.1 nightly build.
