Airtel, the biggest player in Indian telecom industry seems to be leaving no stones unturned to retain its top position following the havoc created by Reliance Jio’s free calls stint in the telecom industry. Reliance Jio which has been gaining customers fast has caused every other telecom company to launch a series of new plans offering freebies to prevent their customers from shifting to Jio, even if it means amassing losses for these telecommunication companies.
Stepping into the shoes of Jio, Airtel has updated its previously launched myPlan Infinity plan to include two even more affordable postpaid plans so as to give real competition to similar offers by Jio. The two new infinity plans are priced at ₹549 and ₹799 as against the previous lowest plan of ₹1,199 in the same category.
The new monthly ₹549 myPlan Infinity offers unlimited local and STD calls, unlimited incoming calls even in roaming, a month’s subscription of Airtel’s very own Wynk Music and Wynk Movies, 100 STD and local SMS every day for a month and 3GB of 4G data. However, 3G smartphone users will only get 1GB data for a month.
The ₹799 monthly myPlan Infinity offers exactly the same amount of free services as the ₹549 plan only exception being 5GB of 4G mobile internet data every month instead of 3GB of 4G data under the ₹549 plan. Also, 3G users will get 3GB of 3G data every month.
The ₹1,199 myPlan has also been updated to offer 10GB of 4G data and additional outgoing roaming calls, other offerings under the same are similar to ₹549 and ₹799 myPlan Infinity. 3G users will get only 6GB of 3G internet data. Also, Airtel has other three Infinity plans in force offering same benefits as the ₹1,199 plan with increased data balances of 15GB, 20GB, and 30GB every month for ₹1,599, ₹1,999, and ₹2,999 respectively.
