Acer held its launch event in Berlin recently and put forth a number of drool-worthy products for the tech geeks on the lookout for new ground-breaking products. Among the range of products that were released, the Acer Swift series unmistakably stood out as the candy store for the enthusiasts. The Acer Swift 7 in particular, which is said to be the world’s thinnest with the width being a mere 9.98 mm less than even a centimetre.
The newly flagged off Swift series comprises four ultra-thin laptops with Acer Swift 7 being the thinnest. Its 9.98mm width stands as a far off challenge with its competitors Apple Macbook (which stands at 13mm), HP Spectre 13 (10.4mm) and Asus Zenbook 3 (11.9mm). The unit is powered by the seventh-gen Intel Core i5 processors, 8GB RAM, 256 Solid State Drive (SSD) and has claimed up to 9 hours of battery life. Bundled inside a very compact body, the Acer Swift 7 sports a 13.3-inch full-HD (1080×1920) IPS display and weighs a meagre 1.1 kg-noticeably lightweight when compared to the powerhouse lodged inside the unit. The Acer Swift 7 is expected to be available in North America by October with the prices starting at $999 (Rs. 74,500 approx.).
The Series consists of three other laptops, namely, the Swift 5, Swift 3, and Swift 1. The Acer Swift 5 is a bit a bit on the heavier side with the thickness at 14.58 mm, and weight of 1.3kg. The only difference in the specs is that it offers 512GB of SSD. The Acer Swift 3 gets even bulkier, weighing around 1.5kgs, and is about 17.95mm thick. It offers a 14-inch display and comes in configurations to put in the sixth generation Intel Core processors as well. The remaining specifications are the same as the Acer Swift 5. Lastly, the Acer Swift 1 is the heaviest of the lot weighing at 1.6kg and is 17.9mm thick. It features a 12-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS display, is powered by Intel Pentium or Celeron processors coupled with 4GB of RAM. It offers 64GB or 128GB of eMMC storage and claims to offer up to 12 hours of battery life.
This is it for now, till then, stay tuned.
